Plant Hunt

There was a small clump of wild Heliconia two blocks away and I wanted to grab some of them. They are too beautiful to be left uncared for. I dug out some this afternoon. I think it's called HELICONIA ROSTRATA (aka Hanging Lobster Claw).

Is red thing a flower? Or leaf?

The flower in the back is another Heliconia in a different color. It grows much bigger (1.5 to 4.8m!). The red thing is a flower. They both belong to the banana family.
